Rent a car in Boston
Where to rent a car in Boston?
Founded in 1630, it’s one of the oldest cities in the U.S and famous for more than just their Boston Red Soxs (Yankees suck!!). Boston’s history recalls revolution and transformation within every beautiful cobbled street and corner. If you love to learn, Boston is a city motivated by innovation and thinking, so get stuck in and soak up all those smarts!
Rental cars are easy to pick up when your flight to Boston arrives, there’s a huge range available at Boston Logan airport (BOS). Choose from Europcar, Avis, Budget, Honk, Enterprise, National, Alamo, Hertz, Sixt and Dollar. There’s not a huge selection of car rentals in downtown Boston so it’s probably best to search the best deals on liligo.com and then reserve your car in advanced to be picked up at the airport. Leaving it too late in peak season might mean you miss out, so be a head of the game and book early.
Driving in Boston: what you need to know
Central Boston is small and compact – a nightmare for driver whom is unfamiliar with the Boston cobbled streets. Because the downtown area is pretty compact and attracts are close by, walking from place to place may be your best option.
Be aware that pedestrians often jaywalk in Boston. If you’re driving you must have your wits about you, because pedestrians will walk out with a ‘they won’t hit me’ attitude.
Also traffic signals are often disregarded; a red light doesn’t necessarily mean that pedestrians, cyclists or drivers will stop.
Be sure to get the full car cover when you take out a rental car, Boston’s streets are narrow and the parking spaces are small so don’t be surprised if you get a few bump and bruises along the way.
